While You're Waiting

Debra R. Stacey

The average person spends years to nearly a decade of

their lifetime waiting.

We wait for payday.

We wait in lines.

We wait for the red light to turn green, and then we wait

for the car in front of us to move.

We wait for our food to cook.

We wait on hold for customer service.

We wait for our computers to load.

We wait to be seated at a restaurant, we wait for the waiter or waitress to take our order. We wait for our food to

come, and then we wait to get our check so we can pay.

We wait at the doctor

’s office.

We get to the airport early so we can wait.

We wait for answers to prayer

—healing, provision, restoration of relationships, peace, strength, and more.

When we begin to list all the waiting we do, it is easy to

see we spend a lot of our lives, waiting.

These one

-page devotions contain practical, encouraging

and challenging advice on how we should wait.
